The Karl Storz IMAGE 1 HUB offers a modular system where the camera head can be upgraded without replacing the full console. Image quality is marginally sharper for fine endoscopic work. However, it costs significantly more new and refurbished units are harder to find in India.
Stryker 1488 AIM vs Karl Storz H3-Z
The Stryker 1488 AIM adds intelligent auto white balance and exposure control on top of the 1288. It produces more consistent image quality across different lighting conditions — ideal for high-volume OTs where multiple surgeons use the system.
The Karl Storz H3-Z is a high-resolution 3-chip CCD camera producing extremely fine detail. It is preferred in specialty centres for procedures requiring exceptional image accuracy. The price premium over the 1488 is significant.
